The Sixers look to end a 26-game losing streak when they host the Detroit Pistons Saturday night at Wells Fargo Center.
Tony Wroten, who has missed the Sixers' last three three games with an sprained right ankle is expected to return Saturday night, according to head coach Brett Brown. Byron Mullens is listed as day-to-day with a sprained left ankle and will not play.
Special Olympics Pennsylvania Night
As part of an ongoing partnership with Special Olympics Pennsylvania, the Sixers will host Special Olympics athletes at Saturday night's game, inviting them to participate in a high-five tunnel during pregame introductions and having a select group play on the court at halftime. Before the game, rookie Michael Carter-Williams, the team's spokesperson for the partnership, will address the crowd.
Acquired by Philadelphia on February 20, second-year center Henry Sims has started each of the Sixers’ last 15 games. As he’s gotten more comfortable with his new team, his production has improved; over his last four games, he’s averaging 15.5 points (56.8 FG%), 10.3 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per contest. In all four of those games, he was matched up against some of the league’s most physical centers – Tyson Chandler (NYK), Joakim Noah (CHI), Tim Duncan (SAS), and Dwight Howard (HOU). Saturday, he’ll face another imposing center, fellow sophomore Andre Drummond, who’s averaging 13.2 points and 12.8 boards per game while leading the league in offensive rebounding (5.2 ORPG).
A Quick Turnaround
For the Pistons, Saturday night’s game will be the second of a back-to-back, the first game of which came in a loss to the 49-22 Miami Heat Friday night in Detroit. Following that game, the Pistons flew to Philadelphia, where they arrived early Saturday morning. The Sixers, on the other hand, will be coming off a day of rest on Friday. Detroit is 2-17 this season in games played on the tail end of back-to-backs.
